supremo policy.

this is a hangover from studying policies.

by order effective today, the following policies are to be implemented.

eat only two(2) heartful meals a day. in ancient japan, warriors eat only twice a day so that they could use the energy they get in their food efficiently. this accounts to why japanese are relatively fitter compared to americans.
take note: FRUGALITY

devote at least an hour for NMAT review and another for recreation everyday. remember: all work and no play makes jack a dull boy and jill a dull girl. this is for a holistic development. one should at least know a little of something about everything.

30 proper push ups and sit ups a day. Roxas: you are already a secondclassman and yet, you can't even do proper push ups nor carry your own weight.
read:PROGRESS

don't bend your trunk. this is based on samurai jijuitsu. they believe that if one would keep your trunk straight while moving (i.e walking, carrying loads etc.), one would work more efficintly. this has something to do with proper respiration, circulation and the design of the body.

eat chocolates and ice cream sparingly. aside from doctor's advise, commoditizing that is eating chocolates and ie crems too often loses the joy and excitement of eating one. the same way saying sorry too often loses its meaning.

it is all in the decision maker.

bushido

Mine honour is my life;
both grow in one;
Take away my honour,
and my life is done.

i have already written abouth japan and honor. still, i am mesmerized by their overwhelming value for honor. here is something i researched about the way of the samurai with reference to the movie the last samurai.

Bushido

Bushido, literally translated “Way of the Warrior”, developed in Japan between the Heian and Tokugawa Ages. It was a code and way of life for samurai, a class of warriors. It gives emphasis on frugality, loyalty, martial arts mastery and honor until death which came from the samurai moral code.

The seven codes of Bushido are:
1. Rectitude or Justice
2. Courage
3. Benevolence
4. Loyalty
5. Honor
6. Self-control
7. Politeness or Sincerity

Among all these, what strikes me the most is honor and self-control -the few things that are often neglected today.

"A swordsman's path shall never end, nor will the code of Bushidō. As long as there's someone to protect, as long as there is someone to carry on the code of Bushidō, it will not die. There will always be injustice and suffering, and one swordsman can't change the world, no matter how strong he or she is. But I can always protect those in my sight. I will always protect the weak and helpless, for that is the true code of Bushidō and I shall achieve this without taking a single human life. There will always be someone who will carry on my will and hold the sword which I hold, and carry on the code for it is something that needs to be pure and true, not altered by greed or evil. So if one billion people follow it wrongfully, or just a handful follow it righteously, it is the handful that are the true and strongest of all."

bum

lately, i have not been the iskolar ng bayan that everyone expects a UP student to be. i have been constantly missing, procrastinating and sleeping in my classes. i could not entirely blame it on my orgs since i have been an inactive member for two sems already. i could not entirely blame it on my rotc since i also have classmates who are doing good in their academics. i know it is my fault (see, instead of doing my paper, i am typing in this blog of mine.). it is starting be alarming now.

i need to learn how to manage my time and set my priorities big time.

FOCUS.

the world needs men...

The world needs men.
who cannot be bought;
whose word is their bond;
who put character above wealth;
who possess opinions and a strong will;
who are larger than their vocations;
who do not hesitate to take risks;
who will not lose their individuality in a crowd;
who will be as honest in small affairs as in greater;
who will make no compromise with wrong;
whose ambitions are not confined to their own selfish desires;
who will not say they do it "because everybody else does it;"
who are true to their friends through good and bad, in adversity as well as in prosperity;
who do not believe that shrewdness, cunning, and hardheadedness are the best qualities for winning success;
who are not ashamed or afraid to stand for the truth when it is unpopular;
who can say "no" with emphasis, although all the rest of the world says "yes".

i am back.

old soldiers never die...

... they just fade away.

i have decided to update this blog of mine once again.
but since i still have lots of things to do, i'll just catch up with it soon.
